There’s nothing else I can say. I can try to empathise, but I just don’t know what it’s like to be brutally beaten or watch a family member murdered simply because of their skin colour.

I have no idea what it’s like to live in fear, everyday, that you might not return home because your black.

I can’t even begin to imagine the anguish, anger, horror, desperation or utterly profound loss that so many are feeling in the US and around the world.

All I know is that I detest what was done to one man in Minneapolis in the same way that I detest every time I see an innocent person singled out and murdered because of their skin-colour. It doesn’t matter to me what charge he is alleged to have been detained on. Nobody under the care of an organisation whose sole job is to protect, should fear for their life.

It has to stop. It’s gone on too long. Every day is one day too many.
